The Children's Home of Stockton provides 24 hour residential care and treatment to over 150 severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents per year. Seven psychiatric-level treatment programs, located in three centralized residential units and four Community Homes, provide highly specialized services to students with the following problems:

• Dysfunctional family systems
• Victims of physical abuse
• Victims of sexual abuse
• Victims of emotional abuse
• Depression / Mood Disorders
• Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Poor self-esteem
• Social skill deficits
• Delinquent/pre-delinquent behavior
• Adolescent victim/perpetrators
• Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder
• Substance abuse education and prevention
• Severe Emotional Disturbance

Individually staffed and supervised by full-time Masters or PhD level CHS Social Workers, all CHS residential programs are highly structured environments in which each student's individual needs are assessed, and individualized treatment plans are designed and implemented. Each program also utilizes a behavior management system (GAPS-Goal Attainment Point System), which is tailored to the student's specific treatment goals. Treatment services include:

• On-grounds Special Education Non-Public School program for those who qualify
• Individualized treatment planning
• Individual therapy and counseling
• Group therapy
• Family therapy
• 24-hour supervision
• Activity therapy
• Vocational Counseling
• Five level behavior management point system (GAPS)
• On-grounds and off-grounds work experience programs

Qualification for services; minors are referred through the juvenile court system, i.e., Child Protective Services, Social Services, Adoption, Juvenile Probation, and through Mental Health.

Fees; fees are set by the State of California.  There is no sliding scale.  Fees are typically paid by the county-of-origin, who is responsible for placing the minor in the program.
